All American Quarter Horse Congress 2018

All American Quarter Horse Congress – October 2-28, 2018

The 51st annual All American Quarter Horse Congress, hosted by the Ohio Quarter Horse Association (an American Quarter Horse Association state affiliate), will take place at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio starting Tuesday, October 2 and will run through Sunday, October 28.

World’s Largest Single-Breed Horse Show Rakes in Astounding $382 Million

From Rags to Riches: 1965 – 2018

In 1965, the Ohio Quarter Horse Association’s state board was a group of humble horse owners who had to pass a hat to raise funds to purchase an office typewriter. Today, their prestigious “Congress” event generates an impressive $382 Million for the Central Ohio economy.

What started as a 3-day event, presently expands nearly the entire month of October; including a trade show, PBR bull riding event, and the 52nd Annual Super Sale.

The Ohio Quarter Horse Association’s mission, in part, is to “protect and promote the Quarter Horse and interest of owners, breeders, exhibitors, and enthusiasts”.

They certainly have accomplished this over a lifetime of integrity and dedication.

Montana Silversmiths, the official silversmith of the 2018 Quarter Horse Congress, will be donating over 400 gold and silver buckles to the National Youth Activity Team Tournament, slated for Sunday, October 21.

Proof in the numbers:

Last year, there were 24,500 entries, with over $3 Million in cash and prizes awarded to the winners of various divisions; and there were over 650,000 people who attended the event.

The Quarter Horse Congress show will also include the largest collegiate and youth judging competitions, with over 65 teams of college, 4-H, FFA and Quarter Horse Youth Members.

There are 9.2 Million Quarter Horses in the United States; 307,000 of which are in Ohio.

Overall, there are 4.6 Million people involved in the Equine Industry in some way.

The Equine Industry, as a whole, has a direct economic impact of $39 Billion – with a “B” – annually!
