Two Tylenol and some hair off the dog isn’t how I really want to start my day…I can’t recall. Who put that drunk in my drink and those three sheets in the wind,…

Those are a few lyrics that describe a scene of a morning hangover with a foggy memory. The uptempo song is sure to create buzz among listeners with the parallels of their quandary of liquid courage and sober reasoning. The next lyrics create even more “no you didn’t moments” with The 70 texts to my ex….they ain’t going over well. Why was I streaking? Way to cold to be that bold…

Granite Mountain Hotshots Commemorated In Movie This October

Remembering the Granite Mountain Hotshots
Remembering the Granite Mountain Hotshots

Few will forget the 20 men known as the Granite Mountain Hotshots and their battle against the Yarnell Hill fire near Prescott. Nineteen of those firefighters died on June 30, 2013 after becoming trapped in a circle of fire. Only one firefighter survived in what was one of the deadliest wildfires in recent US history.

Family, friends and officials have worked hard to preserve the memories of the 19 deceased firefighters. The town of Yarnell has honored the Granite Mountain Hotshots with a unique tribute, a rugged hiking trail that climbs the side of the mountain where the men died. Each of the fallen 19 hotshots is memorialized along the trail with a plaque. The movie provides another tribute to these heroes.

Earnhardt Sponsors Rodeo Naked GCPRA Benefit Rodeo

Earnhardt Auto Centers is known for sales and service of reliable cars and trucks and the company’s support of all things rodeo. Earnhardt was one of the sponsors of the Rodeo Naked GCPRA Rodeo held September 22-23 in Queen Creek.

Attendees thrilled to Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association competition featuring top athletes from the GCPRA and surrounding areas. But this event was more than just a good time with great competition. Funds raised from this benefit rodeo will assist families affected by Hurricane Harvey. A food drive collected items for Red Cross shelters, and funds from silent auctions and 50/50 raffles held each night will help families who lost their homes from the hurricane.

Anytime you’re heading to the rodeo as a contestant or as a spectator, you won’t go wrong with the Ford F-250. The revamped 2017 model of the Ford F-250 reduced overall weight by using an aluminum-alloy body and a frame containing high-strength steel, which according to Ford makes the latest model about 350 pounds lighter than previous models.

Power is provided from a standard 6.2-liter V8 engine, or you can opt for the 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 engine. With the trailer tow package, maximum towing capacity for the F-250 is 18,000 pounds — plenty for all your rodeo hauling needs!

Add-ons can customize your F-250 with safety and technology tools. Several camera and monitor systems can be added, including one camera mounted near the cab top — allowing you to check the cargo box. Another option, the “Trailer Reverse Guidance” system allows you to hook up your trailer on your own by guiding you on which way to turn the steering wheel while reversing. An additional camera can be placed on a trailer for even more assistance. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and adapted cruise control are other popular options.

Wildland Firefighters

This summer, news reports were filled with stories and photos of wildfires in the West, including in California, Washington and Oregon, and the devastation caused by these blazes.

In addition to endangering lives, homes, property and pets in the path of wildfire, these infernos also produced air quality issues for these regions and beyond. According to an article in the New York Times, summer wildfires generated plumes of smoke that spread across large regions of the country.

The Wildland Firefighter Foundation

In early September, the air quality in the Pacific Northwest was temporarily the worst of any air quality being observed in the world. This was according to Berkeley Earth, an organization that monitors the climate. Both Washington and California declared states of emergency as skies browned and air filled with smoke. Regions of Oregon saw snowing ash.

The Range Steakhouse Serves Up Juicy Steaks & Seasonal Specialties

Harrahs Ak-Chin Chef Ribble 2017 Apple News 2443x1374

The Range Steakhouse serves up juicy steaks, seasonal specialtiesAt The Range Steakhouse at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, you can sink your teeth into some of the best food around. The menu features thick, juicy steaks, fresh seafood, unique starters, bountiful salads and sides, and oversized desserts.  When you’re looking for a special occasion spot or a great meal any night of the week, check out The Range Steakhouse.

Executive Chef Colin Ribble challenges his team to be creative, bringing in different products and ideas to try which is then presented every night as the “feature” dinner. The staff includes Chef Ribble, a sous chef, a room chef, and six cooks, all of whom have been with Ribble for some years.

The Range Steakhouse serves up juicy steaks, seasonal specialtiesFor Cowboy Lifestyle Network fans, Chef Ribble suggests the 16-ounce ribeye steak, grilled medium rare. “I prefer the fattier cut of meat,” Ribble says of the ribeye. “It has two different muscles one of which is my favorite the rib cap,  which is as tender as a filet but it’s got the marbling of the ribeye and the two together is perfect.” Ribble uses a kosher flake salt, coarser than regular salt, and coarse ground pepper to encrust the steak.   Ribble encourages fans to try out the good, simple tastes of The Range Steakhouse. Specialty sides to accompany the ribeye steak are grilled asparagus, sautéed mushrooms and onions, cavatappi macaroni and cheese, house parmesan garlic steak fries, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, vanilla-sweet mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, or a baked potato. The appetizers include delicacies like shrimp cocktail martini and seared scallops.

For dessert, you can choose among crème brûlée; cast iron s’mores; sugar-free key lime cheesecake; a six-layer chocolate cake served with vanilla bean gelato, scoops of raspberry sorbet, or signature gelato; or a regularly changing, seasonal chef’s choice dessert.  Their after-dinner drinks offer the perfect nightcap to your meal.

The Range Steakhouse is open Sundays through Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Call 480-802-5000 for reservations, or book your table online.

California Rodeo Salinas 2017 Highlights Video

California Rodeo Salinas 2017 Highlights Video

The competition began in 1911 and was originally known as the Wild West Show. One year later, 4,000 spectators watched as cowboys and cowgirls from the community attempted to outdo each others time while riding bucking broncos. By 1914, the annual event was renamed the California Rodeo. During the 1940s, celebrity western stars began attending the event. Brahma bull riding was also introduced into the competition. Since that time, the pageantry, the number of events and competitors have gradually increased.
