2018 marks the 91st anniversary of the Austin County Fair, and it is bigger than ever. The Austin County Fair is expanding to a 10-day Fair with the BBQ Cook-off, 5K Stampede, Queens Contest, Bull Blowout and other activities starting things off the first weekend. After that, it means to return to its traditional Fair schedule with livestock shows, PRCA rodeo, the carnival and Nashville entertainers.
The PRCA rodeo will continue for three nights: October 11, 12 & 13. The rodeo will begin at 7:30 pm sharp each day, and will showcase seven breathtaking events: bronc riding, bareback riding, barrel racing, steer dogging, team roping, calf roping and bull riding. These dangerous and exciting sports will spotlight cowboys and cowgirls competing to win incredible cash prizes.
Traditionally, Austin County Fair Rodeo has attracted contestants from all over the nation, so it’s not unusual to see world champion and circuit cowboys perform. Austin County is rich in rodeo enthusiasm and boasts several PRCA qualifiers.
